Zach Braff has revealed a new tattoo that pays tribute to his late friend, the Broadway star Nick Cordero.

Cordero died in July aged 41, due to complications caused by coronavirus. Braff, who was close friends with the actor, has been helping to support Cordero’s late wife Amanda Kloots and their one-year-old son, Elvis.

Doctor Woo, a Los Angeles-based tattoo artist, posted Braff’s new ink on Instagram, revealing a sketch of Cordero wearing a suit and dancing joyfully.

The suit recalls Cordero’s costume for the musical Bullets Over Broadway, in which he co-starred with Braff in 2014.

“In loving memory to the greatest 🌟 @nickcordero1 on his friend @zachbraff 🙏🏼❤️,” the tattoo artist captioned the photo, which Braff shared.

Kloots commented: “Need to come see you for one.”

In a moving tribute shared shortly after Cordero’s death, Braff said he had “honestly never known a kinder person”.

“But Covid doesn’t care about the purity of your soul, or the goodness in your heart,” he wrote. “The last thing he ever texted me was to look out for his wife and one-year-old son, Elvis. I promise the world they will never want for anything.

“I feel so incredibly grateful I got to have Nick Cordero enter my life,” he said.

Braff’s partner, the actor Florence Pugh, also paid tribute, writing: “We lost one of the great ones... It is so shocking and devastating to see one of your own come down as hard as he did…

“Help the world by continuing to take this virus seriously. Wear your mask, respect others’ space, clean your hands and please be safe.”
