Zakarpattia recruitment center explains mobilizing bus driver at night
The bus driver who was mobilized in the middle of the night by the Uzhhorod Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) in Zakarpattia Oblast was evading military service, the TRC said in a Facebook post on Nov. 13.
While checking compliance with the military registration rules, they found a man who had failed to provide his military registration information. As it turned out, he had no legal grounds for deferment of military service, and he "unreasonably avoided military service in the Ukrainian Armed Forces."

The TRC denied the man was mobilized in an illegal way, saying that military recruitment offices are “guided exclusively” by current law.

A bus driver taking a team of children from Vinnytsia to a taekwondo competition in Uzhhorod was taken from his hostel room in the middle of the night and delivered to the military commissariat by employees of the local Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC), Ukrainian journalist Vitaliy Pavlovsky reported on Facebook on Nov. 12.

The TCC employees and police officers refused to accept the driver’s argument that he was the only driver for the group of youth athletes. His phone was taken away, so he had no way of contacting his family and the team manager. After passing the military medical commission, he and other men staying at the hostel were given military identification cards and sent to a training center in Chernihiv Oblast.
Vinnytsia regional governor Serhiy Borzov promised to take control of the situation and ensure that the children are safely transported to their destination.
