Zendaya and Her Mom Were Accidentally Filmed Strolling Through Boston by a Local News Channel

Zendaya has been spending time in Boston in recent months as she films her upcoming movie 'The Drama' with Robert Pattinson

Zendaya and her mother accidentally popped up on the news in Boston this weekend.

On Sunday, Dec. 1, Boston's WCVB Channel 5 news station aired footage from the first day of holiday activities in the city's popular shopping district on Newbury St. that caught Zendaya, 28, on camera while she was out for a stroll with her mother Claire Stoermer — entirely by chance!

Zendaya's appearance in the footage was noted by some WCVB viewers, including TikTok user @chlomance, who shared the video to the social media platform, noting the station "not clocking they got Zendaya" in a caption. The news station then replayed the clip in the morning on Monday, Dec. 2. The footage also amusingly shows that two young girls in the frame appeared to notice the actress and her mother as they passed by; they appeared to look on in awe as Zendaya passed them.

The Dune star has been spending significant time in Boston in recent months while she and Robert Pattinson film their upcoming movie The Drama. The two were most recently seen spending time together on set on Nov. 19 in Andover, Massachusetts, and Boston.com first reported that Zendaya was in the city on Oct. 17.

Zendaya was additionally seen with her boyfriend Tom Holland in Boston on Nov. 8, and Holland, 28, shared a series of pictures and videos of himself and Zendaya out for a date at the bar Foxhole — also on Newbury St. in Boston — to his Instagram Stories on Nov. 24.

Zendaya's mother Stoermer, a school teacher and jewelry line owner, shares the Challengers star with Kazembe Ajamu Coleman. The couple divorced in the 2010s, which Zendaya confirmed in an X post she shared in 2016. At the time, she noted that her family likes to keep information private; she also wrote "they still homies" while posting a photo of the three together. While Zendaya is Stoermer and Coleman's only child, she has five older step-siblings from her father's previous marriage.

Multiple outlets first reported that Zendaya and Pattinson, 38, would costar in The Drama back in August. As both The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline shared at that time, the movie appears to follow "a couple whose romance changes dramatically before their big day." Actors Mamoudou Athie (Kinds of Kindness) and Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza), the latter of whom is also known for her work in music with her band Haim, will also star in the film, which does not yet have a release date.
