Zeta Floods Roads, Causes Widespread Power Outages Across Southeastern Louisiana

Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday, October 29, assessed the damage caused by Hurricane Zeta, which made landfall Wednesday afternoon as a Category 2 hurricane.

Hurricane Zeta hit Gulf Coast residents with a life-threatening storm surge and damaging wind gusts up to 112 mph, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported.

This footage shows flooding in Golden Meadow, where crews with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LDOTD), Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Louisiana State Police were working to clear Louisiana Highway 1 south of the Leon Theriot Lock on Thursday morning. The road was blocked by water, power poles, and debris, the sheriff’s office said.
