Players have long dominated the sneaker industry with their own signature silhouettes. As of Thursday, there’s a newcomer ready to compete amongst the household names. Zion Williamson, rookie for the New Orleans Pelicans, is debuting a new iteration of his own trainers.
According to Nike, the 20-year-old’s little brother is the creative mastermind behind the Zion Williamson‘s Air Jordan 34 “Noah” Player-Exclusive (PE). The shoe came to life during a meeting with the Jordan Brand design team and Zion’s family.
Inspired by his love of color, lines of green, red, yellow, blue, purple and orange adorn the sneaker’s white and mixed-material body. The underfoot boasts a different layout, a more traditional black and white sole with hints of sky blue on the traction. Inside the sole, you can find “To Zion, love Noah,” presumably done in the youngster’s handwriting. The packaging also reflects the playfulness of the shoe, with a Jordan Brand coloring book tucked inside the box of each pair.
Priced at $195 a pair, you can find the Zion’s Air Jordan 34 “Noah” at Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker. A portion of of the proceeds will also be donated to Son of a Saint, an organization committed to bettering the lives of fatherless boys through mentorship, emotional backing, development of life skills, and the formation of positive, lasting peer-to-peer relationships.
