Zoë Kravitz calls out Hulu for shows lacking women of color after 'High Fidelity' is canceled
Zoë Kravitz had a not-very-subtle criticism for the streaming service Hulu after her show "High Fidelity" was canceled after one season.
Kravitz played the lead role of Robyn "Rob" Brooks who runs a local record store in her hometown in Hulu's updated TV version of the Nick Hornby novel.
"I wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family," Kravitz wrote on Instagram next to a cast photo after the cancellation. "Thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. i'm in awe of all of you. and thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us."
"Westworld" star Tessa Thompson was one of the many expressing shock and dismay over the cancellation. "I will miss you alllllllllllll so much," Thompson wrote, prompting Kravitz to respond with a Hulu rebuke.
"It's cool. at least hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of color we can watch. oh wait," Kravitz wrote. As of Sunday, the comment had more than 1,400 likes.

The streaming service, owned by Disney, has few original series with women of color in lead roles — "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "The Mindy Project" serving as exceptions.
USA TODAY has reached out to Hulu for comment on the criticism. USA TODAY's review called "High Fidelity" the "brilliant modern love story we need."
Other actors and celebrities decried the show's cancellation on Kravitz's Instagram post.
"NOOOOOOO!!! I rarely find shows that genuinely impress me," wrote "Master of None Star" Lena Waithe. "This one did. I told you how much I loved this show. And I still do. This one definitely deserved another season."
"WHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT!!!?????????!!!!!!!!!!!??? Why do I always find out about tragic (expletive) this way?!" musician Questlove wrote.
"I’m so sad 🥺I loved this show !!" wrote Reese Witherspoon to her friend and "Big Little Lies" co-star Kravitz. "The cast and the writing was 💯🌟"
