5 puppies stolen from rural Manitoba, farmer says

A young farmer from Harte, Man., believes five puppies missing from his farm were stolen.

“I was pretty upset because five — five just vanished,” said Ashley Caines. “That’s kind of a random number of dogs to just walk away.”

Caines was raising the three-month-old Great Pyrenees Maremma cross puppies on his farm, along with their two parents.

The puppies went missing on July 6, but their parents remain on the farm.

“I was pretty stunned. They are meant for guarding sheep and goats,” said Caines. “If they were put in the wrong environment, it wouldn’t be good.”

Caines is asking anyone with information to contact him on Facebook.
