Arrest made in Toronto homicide

Toronto police have arrested a 52-year-old man and charged him in connection with the death of a man in downtown Toronto last weekend.

Derrick Witter was arrested on Friday and charged with killing 45-year-old Hussein Sobrie.

According to police Sobrie was assaulted near Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East at about 1 a.m. on Saturday, July 6. He died of his injuries a few days later.

Witter has been charged with manslaughter and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13.
