Canada Post worker arrested in mail theft probe

A 24-year-old Canada Post delivery worker has been arrested in Manitoba as part of a mail theft investigation.

RCMP in Gypsumville searched a home on Monday and found items stolen from mail route along Highway 6 between that community and Winnipeg.

They found a number of items, mostly electronics.

The man, a Canada Post contract employee, was arrested at the home.

He is facing charges of theft from mail, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of proceeds of crime.

He has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Dec. 12.

Gypsumville is located about 240 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
