Halifax Rainmen one win away from NBL Canada Championship

The Halifax Rainmen can claim their first NBL Canada Championship title with a win Tuesday night.

The Rainmen are leading 3-2 in the best of seven series against the Windsor Express, the defending league champs.

On Sunday, the Rainmen routed the Express 125-91 in the Rainmen's final home game. The game was the final one of three straight home games at the Scotiabank Centre.

The Rainmen will look to stay in the win column as they return to Windsor tonight. The teams split the first two games of the series in Windsor, while Halifax picked up another two decisive wins at home and lost a close one.

Their win on Sunday was the most decisive of the series, and they look to carry that momentum into game six.

Bubba Ray's Sports Bar on Bayers Road is hosting a viewing party tonight for fans in the Halifax area. Among them will be a self-proclaimed "die-hard" fan and game producer for the Halifax Rainmen, Matt Currie.

"Halifax has had a team for seven years, and this is the closest they've ever come," he said.

"It would be a great way to top off the season."

The viewing party starts at 7:30 p.m. at Bubba Ray's. The tip off is at 8 p.m.
