Lethbridge bus fire causes $500K damage to city transit yard

A fire at the City of Lethbridge bus yard has caused $500,000 in damage.

Emergency services responded to reports of a fire at the municipal transit yard in the 600 block of 4 Avenue North shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Lethbridge Police Service, the blaze was contained to one bus parked inside the main building.

Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $200,000, while the bus facility sustained $300,000 in damage due to smoke.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
