Ottawa to be blanketed in 10 cm of snow: Environment Canada

Winter is not done with us yet.

Ottawa and much of central and eastern Ontario can expect 10 centimetres of fresh snow by Wednesday morning, according to Canada's national weather agency.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for much of southern Ontario, calling for a mix of precipitation. But in the National Capital Region and surrounding area, that precipitation will fall as snow, with about 10 cm expected to fall.

There's a 30 per cent chance of flurries on Wednesday.

The City of Ottawa announced that winter parking restrictions are in effect. Vehicles without on-street parking permits are banned from parking on any city street between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. so that snow plows can clear the roads.

Vehicles without permits that are still parked on the streets during that time frame will be ticketed.
