Santa Claus is coming to town

People of all ages are invited downtown on Saturday for the Santa Claus parade, which kicks off at 11 a.m. at the corner of Fort and Ste-Catherine streets.

The parade, in its 64th edition, will feature more than 20 floats, singers, dancers, street performers, and of course Santa Claus.

Musical guests will include Quebec entertainer Joël Legendre and musical group for children Les Petites Tounes.

Olympic figure skating bronze medalist Joannie Rochette is the parade’s Christmas fairy.

Road closures

The parade will move along Ste-Catherine Street, blocking it off to traffic for several hours.

Ste-Catherine Street will be closed between Lambert-Closse and St-Marc streets from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., and between St-Marc Street and St-Laurent Boulevard from 10:15 a.m. until 2 p.m.
