Steven Robbins' body found on banks of Saint John River in Lincoln

RCMP in Oromocto say the body of a 49-year-old man has been found along the banks of the Saint John River.

They say the body was discovered shortly after 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the community of Lincoln.

According to RCMP, they have identified the man and he was reported missing April 27, 2015 to Fredericton Police.

An autopsy has been scheduled, but police say foul play is not suspected.

Tammy Gramer spoke to CBC News and confirmed the body is that of her uncle Steven Robbins.

Robbins was reported missing from the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton.

Robbins's family says he was in hospital for treatment of pneumonia, dehydration and psychological issues.

Although he was admitted on April 22, his family says he remained in a bed in the emergency department due to a lack of beds elsewhere in the hospital. They say staff told them Robbins left the hospital against medical advice.

Gramer said the family was hoping he would be found alive, but after so much time has passed they were fearing the worst.

She says the family is shocked and devastated, but knowing he is at peace with her grandfather helps.
