Woman badly injured in motorcycle crash
A woman is in hospital with multiple limb fractures and serious head and neck trauma after the motorcycle she was riding crashed into a minivan on Wednesday night.
The 36-year-old was heading north on 14th Street southwest on a Kawasaki ER650 when she failed to stop at a red light at 10th Avenue, police say.
She struck the side of an eastbound Chevrolet Uplander.
The motorcyclist was taken to Foothills Medical Centre in serious and potentially life-threatening condition.
Police say she was wearing a helmet and speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
The people in the minivan were not injured.
The Calgary Police Traffic Section is investigating the collision.
