1 dead, 2 injured in Highway 59 collision

One man is dead and two people were injured in a collision on Highway 59 north of Winnipeg Monday afternoon.

The male driver and female passenger of a pickup truck were travelling westbound on Highway 59 and collided with a southbound vehicle at the Road 32 East intersection near Libau, Manitoba.

Selkirk RCMP were called to the scene of the crash around 2 p.m.

The male driver of the westbound vehicle passed away from his injuries.

The male driver of the southbound truck and the female passenger of the westbound truck were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Police shut down a stretch of road south of Highway 317 at the Libau Access Road earlier in the afternoon, and traffic is still being diverted by police in the area.
