One man is dead following a Monday morning shooting in Falconridge in northeast Calgary.

Officers found a man outside a home on Falsby Way N.E., police said.

Police say officers were called to the area shortly before 11 a.m. for reports of shots being fired.

The death of the man is considered suspicious.

It's the second suspicious death in as many days after a man's body was found in the southwest neighbourhood of Upper Mount Royal on Sunday, though police say they do not believe the two deaths are related.

Several homes on the street were evacuated and parts of 54th Street N.E. were closed to traffic.

An autopsy will take place later this week.

Investigators were still on scene Monday afternoon as they interviewed witnesses and canvassed for security-camera footage.
