2 children struck while retrieving basketball from street in east Windsor

Two young children were reportedly struck by a vehicle after running into the street to retrieve a basketball on Tuesday, according to Windsor Police Services.

A release from Windsor police said the incident occurred just after 4 p.m. in the 2300 block of Westcott Road, just off Tecumseh Road East. It sent a six-year-old and nine-year old to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the 89-year-old female motorist remained on the scene following the collision.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is being asked to contact The Windsor Police Traffic Enforcement unit or Crime Stoppers.
