No arrests yet as police identify 2 killed in weekend shooting at Rock Hill block party

Rock Hill police have not made any arrests yet after two people died and two others were hurt in a shooting at a neighborhood block party Saturday night, officials said.

Montest Mincey, 44, of Great Falls, and Maricus Kirk, 21, of Lancaster, died at Piedmont Medical Center after being shot, according to Sabrina Gast, York County Coroner.

A 25-year-old woman was shot in the arm, officials said. A fourth victim, a 24-year-old man, suffered a graze gunshot wound, according to police. Those injured victims have not been identified.

Officers responded after 10 p.m. to the shooting in the 900 block of Southland Drive, Rock Hill Police Department Lt. Michael Chavis said. The residential area is in the southern part of the city near where Mount Holly Road and Saluda Road intersect.

Hundreds of people were at the event, police said. Officials have not released details of how the shooting happened, or what led to the gunfire. People ran for safety after shots were fired, according to police and The Herald’s news partner, WSOC-TV.
