2 die in Metro Vancouver traffic incidents

The pedestrian victim was dragged into the road after she was hit be the car, which came tro rest on a boulevard.

An elderly woman and an elderly man have died in separate traffic incidents in Metro Vancouver Saturday.

The woman was walking on a sidewalk near Austin at Nelson win Coquitlam when she was hit by a vehicle coming out of a parking lot, police said.

The vehicle came to a stop on a boulevard after dragging the victim into the roadway.

Police say the driver of the vehicle is cooperating and they are continuing their investigation.

Earlier in Surrey, a car crashed into a concrete barricade at 188th Street and 28th Avenue.

First responders could not revive the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
