Two men have been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a teenager in Williams Lake, B.C., on May 5, 2022.

Richard (Richie) Todd, 19, was fatally stabbed on Midnight Drive around 11 p.m. PT, RCMP said in a Saturday statement. Williams Lake is about 550 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.

Almost two years after Todd's death, 26-year-old Michael Bauer and 25-year-old Garrett Shirey were charged with manslaughter in relation to the stabbing.

Bauer, of Williams Lake, and Shirey, of Houston, about 1,050 kilometres northwest of Vancouver, are now in police custody.

They are scheduled to appear in the Williams Lake provincial courthouse on May 6, according to RCMP.

Todd was found critically injured and died in hospital on May 5, 2022, with police saying at the time that they believed he was the victim of a targeted attack.

The RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact them.
