28-year-old faces murder charges in west Edmonton stabbing

Investigators are on the scene of a suspicious death at 160 Street and Stony Plain Road.

A 28-year-old man is facing second-degree murder charges following the stabbing death of a man in west Edmonton Monday night.

Police found the man around 11:30 p.m. after they were called to a fight in a parking lot at 160 Street and Stony Plain Road. The victim died at the scene from loss of blood due to a stab wound.

Police questioned several witnesses at the scene.

The fatal stabbing is Edmonton's eighth homicide for 2014.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
