3 arrested after break-in at Windsor car dealership

Police credit alert citizen with assisting in break and enter arrest

Three people from Windsor face multiple charges after police arrested them for a commercial break and enter that targeted a Windsor car dealership.

Police say they were called to a dealership located on Tecumseh Rd. E between Forest Glade Dr. and Clover Ave. at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday. Investigators determined that a break and enter had just occurred and property was stolen from the business.

The following Sunday, around 10:00 p.m., police say they observed a suspicious vehicle in the dealership's parking lot. A 32-year-old man was trying to start a vehicle that belonged to the dealership. The man tried to run away through the parking lot but was arrested.

Police then located two others in the car they allege the suspects arrived in, and placed them under arrest. After searching that car, police found property belonging to the car dealership, as well as a knife, methamphetamine, a digital scale and cash.

The 32-year-old Windsor man faces charges of attempted theft of motor vehicle and possession of stolen property. A 29-year-old man from Windsor faces charges of possessing stolen property, a prohibited weapon and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. He also faces multiple counts of breaching probation. A 24-year-old woman from Windsor is charged with possession of stolen property.

Police ask anyone with additional information to call them or Crime Stoppers.
