3 arrested after Commisso bakery robbed at gunpoint, Toronto police say

A Toronto police K-9 unit helped arrest three men who allegedly robbed a 24-hour bakery in the city's Jane and Finch neighbourhood.

Police said they were called Tuesday to Commisso Brothers and Racco Italian Bakery on Eddystone Avenue at around 11:20 p.m. after the suspects had allegedly pointed a gun at employees and demanded money.

The suspects obtained some cash along with other items including rolls of coins and cigarettes before fleeing, according to police. Nobody in the bakery was injured.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area and eventually arrested the suspects and recovered the stolen property.

Police haven't said what charges the suspects are facing, if any.

The bakery has been the target of crime before. In 2000, co-owner Giuseppe Racco was shot to death at the business.
