3 people hurt in Thurston County wreck near Rainier, State Patrol says

Three people were injured last week as the result of a two-car wreck on State Route 507 near Rainier in Thurston County, according to the Washington State Patrol.

All three were taken to area hospitals. One of the drivers, a Tacoma woman, is accused of vehicular assault because troopers believe she was driving under the influence.

About 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, the 38-year-old Tacoma woman and her passenger were headed south on SR 507 near Koeppen Road. Troopers say she drove across the center line and crashed into a northbound vehicle, injuring the driver.

The Tacoma woman was injured and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, as was her passenger, a 28-year-old Spanaway man who also was injured.

The 52-year-old Yelm man in the other car was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.

The road was blocked for more than four hours because of the wreckage and investigation, according to State Patrol.
