From Women's Health

https://www.womenshealthmag.co...Denise Richards stepped onto the acting scene when she starred in Starship Troopers and Wild Things in the '90s. But since then, it was her marriage and divorce to actor Charlie Sheen as well as joining The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills that have kept her on peoples minds. No matter how you know Denise Richards, one thing that we're guessing most people would agree on is that, in spite of all of the drama in her personal life, she's aged very well.

She says that it's in part due to genetics but that she was (and still is) very diligent about a skincare routine. It's part of the reason why she decided to create her own skincare line—CB Me Beauty—earlier this year. It includes six products (a probiotic cleanser, cream-oil moisturizer, retinol serum, mineral sunscreen, neck and décolleté treatment, and eye cream) and is a partnership between Denise and Canavation Product Group, a Florida-based manufacturer that uses a variety of cannabis-derived active ingredients, like hemp oil and CBD. So, naturally, she uses all of her own products now but she also has some other skin rules she lives by to achieve her seemingly ageless complexion. Keep reading to see what they are.

She skips Botox.

“For me, less is more. I don't do Botox—I've tried it in the past but I didn't like it. I mean, I liked that I looked very rested, but I didn't like the way it felt on my face," Denise told Into The Gloss. "I move my face a lot to show expressions. With Botox that movement was hindered and I felt very strange, so I thought I'll give up looking really rested for the sake of more movement. I actually had a director once tell me I moved my face too much, and I said you're used to working with actresses who do too much Botox! I'm sorry, but I can move my face.

She mixes oil with her moisturizer.

"Prior to making this line, I would always mix my moisturizer with oil, so now I have my dream product in the CB Me Cream Oil Moisturizer," Denise told Refinery29. But not just any oil—she specifically chose hemp seed oil. "I have dry skin, so it really works for me, but my sister has oily skin and she would not normally put oil on her skin. But hemp seed oil is perfect because it’s very therapeutic and doesn't clog pores."

She's Diligent About Skincare

"For me, I focus on a great skin-care regime. It's something I've always been passionate about, so I was very excited about the opportunity to make my own line," the actress shared with Refinery29. "Ninety-five percent of the time I do wash my face at night, but if I’ve taken off all my makeup the night before, I won't re-wash in the morning—I’ll just splash my face with water," Denise told Into The Gloss.

But She Keeps Her Routine Simple

Denise shared with NewBeauty that she wanted a line that "wasn't overwhelming" saying, "I didn’t want 20 products on your sink that took a half hour before bed to apply. I wanted something very user-friendly. Personally, for me, by the time I get home, I’m so tired. The thought of going through a huge process is not appealing. I wanted products that were easy, that worked and benefited all skin types."

She's A Stickler About Sunscreen

Whether the weather is rain or shine, Denise told Into The Gloss that she always applies sunscreen before going outside. That's why it was so important to her to formulate a mineral sunscreen in her new line that would play well under makeup. She told NewBeauty that she's been wearing SPF since she was a teenager and said, “I’m blessed with good genetics and I have a clean lifestyle, but sunscreen always helps.”

She Skips DIY Treatments

“I learned early on not to do anything DIY when it comes to beauty…not to say other people in my family haven’t. My one daughter loves to change her hair color—purple to pink, pink to purple. I’m not brave enough to do that. I’m just letting the roots grow out and the split ends go,” she told NewBeauty.
