5 things to do in New Brunswick this weekend
It's a long weekend. Not just any long weekend, but one that celebrates all things New Brunswick.
So, if you find yourself wandering through any part of the province this weekend you may want to know what's going on.

Foire Brayonne
Edmundston will celebrate its heritage with one of the biggest francophone parties east of Quebec from July 29 to Aug. 2.
The 37th annual Foire Brayonne will heat up this weekend with musical performances nightly, sporting events, food, the coureur des bois triathlon and of course, the party du parking.
Thursday there will be a weekend-long softball tournament beginning at 7 p.m., a nine-ball pool tournament at 7 p.m. at the Black Jack Bar and a volleyball tournament on Saturday at 10 a.m.
There will be a soap box race down Rice Street on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m and the Caisse Populaire golf tournament at the Edmundston Golf Club on Friday at 8 a.m.
Musical performances on Thursday will be free with Fire 'N' Ice at the Place de L'Artisan. Friday there will be the party du parking with Loxley, free admission from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and $10 after.
Saturday night will be Old School Detention and Undercover Live Rock Band and Saturday will be the K-Gin Cowboys.
Festival passes are $40 and can be purchased at the Place de L'Artisan.
SappyFest 10
Another diverse year of art, food, friends, stories and of course music will fill York Street in Sackville for the 10th edition of SappyFest.
A few of the musical performances will include, Les Hay Babies on Sunday, Walrus on Saturday, Jon McKiel on Sunday, Michael Feuerstack on Friday and Vogue Dots on Sunday.
The SappyFest street market will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. except Friday from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. The market will provide local food, apparel and crafts.
The Universal Dawn literary event will be hosted by Halifax poet Andrew Patterson.
Guests will include author Andrew Hood, comic gurus Rebecca Roher and Jonathan Rotszain, poet Ashley Opheim and feminist sex educator Kaleigh Trace.
The kids corner power jam will run until July 31. It will be led by a team of local and national musicians. Campers will form bands, write songs, record demos and make merchandise including t-shirts and posters.
The kids will get the chance to kick off the festival with a performance highlighting their skills on the SappyFest main stage Friday at 6:30 p.m.
There will also be a bike valet available, karaoke at Struts Gallery and a zine fair.
Weekend passes are $100, Friday passes are $35, Saturday and Sunday are $50 and can be purchased online.
Nashwaak Music Festival
Yoga, artwork, music workshops and a stage filled with performers will be right on the Nashwaak River this weekend for the annual Nashwaak Music Festival.
The festival will have music from artists like The Divorcees on Sunday at 9:05 p.m. and Tomato Tomato on Saturday at 4:25 p.m. The Thunderbirds are on Friday at 9:15 p.m. and The Downtown Blues Band are on Saturday 9 p.m.
There will be morning yoga on Saturday and Sunday, bouncy castles for kids, workshops on classical flute, acoustic guitar and singing and telescoping with tim every night at 10 p.m. weather permitting.
The festival offers camping on site.
Tickets for the weekend are $70 at the gate, $20 for Friday evening at the gate and $30 for Saturday and Sunday at the gate. Kids under 12 get in for free.
Campobello Island FogFest
The tiny island is just a ferry ride away and is putting on a five-day free music and arts festival with music ranging from folk to pop and gospel to rock.
Performances are spread out on the island and include Keith Hallett and the World's Fair on Sunday, Jared Lutes, Eastcoast Love Story, The Backyard Devils. Saturday will be Snow Crow, Emma Page, Laurie Jones and WeBe3.
There will be several art showings by artists like Arend Trent, John Kaminsky, Pat Pepi and Katie Lynn Brown.
The festival is free.
Camping accommodations are available at Herring Cove Provincial Park.
New Brunswick Day celebrations in Hartland
Hartland has been chosen to be the host of the official New Brunswick Day activities. The festivities will take place on the waterfront with official ceremonies at 11 a.m.
There will be sunrise yoga at 7 a.m. in Charles Allen Park, breakfast at the Covered Bridge Golf & Country Club. There will be a free lunch with local dignitaries in the library parking lot.
Kids activities will take place in Charles Allen Park and the armed forces will be doing demonstrations in the baptist church parking lot.
A steak dinner will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion from 4 p.m. tp 8 p.m. with fireworks at 10 p.m.
