Air Canada flight AC869 from London to Toronto diverted because of 'unruly passenger'

An Air Canada flight from London's Heathrow Airport to Toronto's Pearson airport was diverted to Halifax because of an "unruly passenger."

Flight AC869 made a sharp turn from its course as it was flying north of Prince Edward Island to land at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Nova Scotia RCMP said they arrested a 30-year-old South African woman after she allegedly assaulted two flight attendants during the flight. RCMP said she remains in police custody.

The plane, which had 239 people on board, resumed its voyage to Toronto after a short stop.
