Alberta RCMP say man wanted for intimidating trial witness in Fort McMurray

Wood Buffalo RCMP are looking for a man accused of assaulting and intimidating a witness expected to testify at an upcoming trial.

The suspect assaulted the man outside the Boomtown Casino in Fort McMurray and then told him not to testify at the trial, according to RCMP.

The suspect and victim were captured on surveillance video outside the casino Nov. 29, Cpl. Erika Laird told CBC News.

The victim later came forward to the RCMP.

The suspect faces a charge of intimidation of a justice system participant.

He's described as 5'10" tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white-hooded sweatshirt with a black pattern at the waist, a black toque and had a scratch below his right eye and a bruise above the left eye.

The trial is being held outside of Fort McMurray.
