Salem United Church of Christ

Christmas Eve services will begin with worship at 10 a.m. A candlelight service will be held at 11 p.m.

Communion and Christmas Day worship start at 9 a.m. with Communion.

Hitz Home Christmas Party

Hitz Memorial Home residents will hold their family Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 24.

Take Family Train Display

Open to the public, an array of electric train sets will be on display at the Village Hall at 602 W. Main St.

If you enjoy trains, this is a must-see display belonging to the Take family and donated for display during the holiday season.

The display is open Wednesdays, Dec. 20 and 27, 5-8 p.m.

This is a free event, but any donations will go towards the Alhambra Community Fire Department.

Christmas Tree Disposal

Residents may take their Christmas trees to the village shed at 421 Elm St. for disposal by the village.

This is only for the disposal of what was once a live tree.

All lights, garland and ornaments must be removed before putting the tree out for recycling.

Jubilee 175th Committee New Year’s Eve Dance

Ring in the new year at the 175th anniversary New Year’s Eve dance in the Firemen’s Hall at the Township Park.

The dance will be held Sunday, Dec. 31, with the doors opening at 7 p.m.

Baywolf will play from 8 p.m. to midnight.

There will be a breakfast served at 10:30 p.m.

Alhambra Jaycees and Cheers Winter Jam 2024

Winter Jam Dance will be hosted by the Alhambra Jaycees on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Park in the Firemen’s Hall.

Music will be provided by the Cheers Band from 8 p.m. to midnight. Dance to the eclectic array of music from pop to rock with some country thrown in.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 per person.

For the evening’s entertainment there will be 50/50 tickets, basket raffles, a Cooler of Booze drawing and the ever popular Big 6 Wheel.

Alhambra Community Club

Alhambra Community Club members met Monday, Dec. 4, at the Township Center.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance and a short meeting, the name of this year’s quilt winner was drawn.

Robin Warfield of St. Jacob was the lucky winner of the quilt.

In other business it was decided to purchase a ham for each of the nursing homes in Alhambra and also to donate $100 to each for their activity departments.

There will be no January meeting.

New membership to the Community Club will begin in February. Dues for the year are $5.
