‘American Idol’ Star Ryan Seacrest Shares an Emotional Update on His Foundation

Ryan Seacrest is a very busy man, but he's going back to the beginning when it comes to a project he holds dear to his heart.

In November 2010, the American Idol host's philanthropic Ryan Seacrest Foundation opened its first "Seacrest Studios"at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. The aim of Ryan's initiative was to create media centers that allowed children being treated at hospitals the chance to be media personalities themselves, using state-of-the-art technology to explore "radio, television and new media." He has since expanded the Seacrest Studios to include 14 locations nationwide, including Tennessee, Utah, and New York.

Well, in an Instagram post uploaded on April 6, Ryan announced he'd be heading back to Atlanta for a special reason. He revealed his original Seacrest Studio would be moved to an updated facility, as the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is building a brand-new hospital (called the Arthur M. Blank Hospital) that will house an updated version of his initial vision.

"Surprise visits to Seacrest Studios are always a good idea," read the caption. "This visit holds extra significance since Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is building a brand-new hospital - Arthur M. Blank Hospital. This fall, RSF will transition the current studio location to this state-of-the-art facility. Next time Ryan steps foot on site, it will be to unveil our new and improved space. Stay tuned for more about this project! 🌟."

When people saw the incoming Wheel of Fortune host would be updating his first major philanthropic project, they immediately congratulated Ryan in the comments.

"Changing lives," one person declared. "Love this at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. So generous of you to do this in your hometown! Thank you," another wrote. "This is truly amazing! You have a great, caring heart," a different follower added.

Congrats, Ryan!
