The five-time Oscar nominee, 65, supported daughter Ella Beatty backstage Tuesday at the Belasco Theatre in New York City, one day after Ella kicked off her limited run as River in the acclaimed Sarah Paulson-led play Appropriate.
A sweet mother-daughter photo shows the two smiling for the camera, while a second snap features Ella, 23, leaning in to plant a smooch on Bening's cheek.
The role serves as the Broadway debut for Ella, who is the youngest child of Bening and Warren Beatty, taking over the part of River from Elle Fanning following the show's recent transfer from the Hayes Theater.

Ella, who graduated from The Juilliard School in 2022, took over for Elle Fanning, who made her own Broadway debut in the role of River last year.
Sarah Paulson, Corey Stoll and Michael Esper star in the play as a trio of siblings who return to their father's Arkansas house after his death to deal with the remains of his estate. But when mysterious objects are discovered among the clutter, suddenly, long-hidden secrets and buried resentments surface as the family is forced to face the ghosts of their past.
After opening to rave reviews in December 2023, the Branden Jacobs-Jenkins-penned, Lila Neugebauer-directed play kicked off an additional 13-week engagement on Saturday.
Nearly the entire original company continued with the production after its recent transfer from the Hayes Theatre, including Paulson, 49, Stoll, 48, Esper, 47, Natalie Gold, Graham Campbell, Alyssa Emily Marvin, Lincoln Cohen and Everett Sobers.

Before Appropriate, Ella made her professional acting debut in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, which follows the real-life drama between author Truman Capote and his friends.
When Ella learned she’d be stepping into the role of River in Appropriate, she burst into tears, she told Vogue last month.
Th actress also said in her interview with the magazine that she acknowledges the advantages of coming from a family of famous performers, including mom Bening and dad Beatty, 86.
“I totally acknowledge that there is an inherent privilege and exposure that comes from having well-known actors as parents,” she told Vogue. “And I really hope that I can offer something meaningful.”
