  • Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson broke off their engagement in October 2018.

  • Fans think Ariana referenced Pete in her 2020 Grammy performance.

Ariana Grande completely killed her return to the Grammy stage tonight, performing a medley of "Imagine," "7 Rings," and "Thank U, Next" with a quick change, two sets and some killer choreo. Despite all that, though, it was the last moment of the performance that had Twitter freaking out.

At the end of her set, the 26-year-old artist made a point of taking off the ring on her hand and placing it into a ring box before making a final pose.

Many, thought the move was throwing shade at Ariana's ex-fiancรฉ whom she broke up with in October 2018, and that by taking off the ring, she was saying she's truly over him and moving on. Of course, two of the songs she performed tonight are at least partly inspired by her relationship with Pete.

Others, though, thought that putting the ring away simply signifies the end of Ariana's "Thank U, Next" era, which began immediately after her split from Pete when she bought her OWN ring (and six others for her friends).

Either way, knowing the singer, the move means more music is on its way. Let the new era of Ari begin!
