Barack Obama Matched Outfits With Daughter Malia in the Cutest Throwback Photo for Her 26th Birthday

Out of all the girl dads out there, Barack Obama ranks high on the list—and his latest birthday tribute to his eldest daughter Malia just scored him even more points.
On Thursday, the former president publicly wished Malia, who turned 26 on the Fourth of July, a happy birthday with the sweetest throwback photo on Instagram. In the snapshot, a young Malia adorably held her dad's hand and gazed up at him as they walked down the sidewalk in matching denim outfits. Obama, for his part, wore a chambray button-down with khaki pants, while Malia opted for jeans and a blue-and-white floral shirt underneath her denim jacket.
"Happy birthday, Malia. One of the greatest joys of my life is watching you grow into the extraordinary woman you’ve become today–and the fact that you’re still willing to hold your dad’s hand in public!" Barack captioned the heartwarming daddy-daughter photo.
Meanwhile, his wife, Michelle, went back even further into the family photo album for her Instagram tribute to Malia. "Happy birthday, Malia! No matter how old you get, you’ll always be my little pea and I’ll always be proud of you," Michelle wrote alongside a picture of Malia holding a stuffed bunny as a toddler. "You deserve the world and more. ❤️."
No longer a little girl, today Malia is a filmmaker and TV writer living in California with her younger sister Sasha. Earlier this year, Malia debuted her short film, The Heart, at Sundance Film Festival, where she appeared on the red carpet in a long gray coat, black jeans, and button-down shirt. She accessorized her low-key look with a skinny scarf around her neck and chunky brown boots.
