BBC confirms return of Taskmaster's Mawaan Rizwan's scripted series Juice
BBC have confirmed the return of Taskmaster star Mawaan Rizwan's comedy Juice.
Based on his 2018 Edinburgh Fringe show, the surreal scripted series launched on BBC Three last year and follows Jamma (played by Rizwan), a man who craves attention but is overshadowed by his chaotic family.
In the show, Jamma's mother Farida and younger brother Isaac are played by Rizwan's real-life mother and brother, Shahnaz and Nabhaan Rizwan.

Additionally, Years and Years actor Russell Tovey plays Jamma's boyfriend Guy, with Jamma trying to navigate the relationship and deal with his own commitment issues.
A brief synopsis for the upcoming second series of Juice teases that "everything in Jamma's life is telling him to grow up. But as he tries to get good at love, he's haunted by family, friends and his former self."
In a statement, Rizwan said: "Juice is back baby! I can't wait to dive back into a magical world with magical people once again.
"Shoutout to everyone who's championed this beautiful bonkers show… and everyone who hated on the bowl cut."

The BBC has also recommissioned Kat Sadler's comedy Such Brave Girls, which follows sisters Josie (Sadler) and Billie (Lizzie Davidson), as well as their single mother Deb, played by Sherlock's Louise Brealey.
Sadler said of the show's renewal: "It's a sick pleasure that these horrible characters get to live another day and I'm now contractually obliged to put them through hell again. The BBC are masochists and I'm very grateful."
Jon Petrie, head of comedy at the BBC, said: "Mawaan and Kat are two of the funniest new voices in British comedy; in Juice and Such Brave Girls they created completely unique shows that made a real impact and were much-loved by audiences. It's a no brainer to have them back for a second time!"
Fans of Taskmaster will recognise Rizwan from the tenth series of the Channel 4 show, where he appeared alongside Richard Herring, Daisy May Cooper, Katherine Parkinson and Johnny Vegas.
Series one of Juice is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, and there is not yet a release date for series two.
