BBC newsreader does seagull impression live on air
BBC News presenter Maryam Moshiri has once again gone viral, this time for doing a seagull impression while live on the programme.
During Wednesday's (April 24) news show, Moshiri was left feeling inspired and decided to squawk live on air, just months after going viral for accidentally flipping the bird on camera.
During a report on the story of nine-year-old Cooper Wallace – a boy who recently won a gold medal in the junior category of the European Gull Screeching competition – the presenter couldn't resist trying it out for herself.
"I can feel that you really want me to do an impression of a seagull, so I'm going to give it a go," she said, before breaking out into a squawk.

Following the impression, Moshiri then joked that she had been sacked for her antics, telling viewers: "I'm hearing in my ear that I've been sacked. Oh well.
"C'est la vie, as they say."
Moshiri is no stranger to going viral on the internet, after she was filmed accidentally flipping off viewers in December last year.
After the opening tiles played, the news programme cut to the studio, where Moshiri could be seen giving the middle finger to the camera, before quickly switching to a more serious facial expression and reading out the news headlines.

She later apologised to viewers for the mistake in a statement on Twitter/X, explaining that the gesture had been a "private joke" with the programme's production team.
"Hey everyone, yesterday just before the top of the hour I was joking around a bit with the team in the gallery," she wrote. "I was pretending to count down as the director was counting me down from 10-0.. including the fingers to show the number. So from 10 fingers held up to one.
"When we got to 1 I turned finger around as a joke and did not realise that this would be caught on camera. It was a private joke with the team and I’m so sorry it went out on air!"
