Preliminary work has started on Moon Cafe, a new restaurant coming to Kennewick’s Southridge area.

The 3,077-square-foot restaurant will be constructed on a site near The Original Pancake House and Trios Health Southridge Hospital.

Moon Tiger of West Richland is the owner for the project, which had a construction value of about $620,000 in building permits issued in June.

Baker Architecture is the designer.

Elite Construction and Development is constructing a mixed use apartment and commercial complex.

The four-plus story project features 105 apartments and street-level retail space.

It is being built on behalf of RDG LLC, led by Trini Garibay, Jeff Oliver, Daniel Berry and David Magana.

Eichler Construction is developing water and other infrastructure to serve a mixed-use development south of Southridge High School. Southridge Apartments will boast 162 units, 20 live/work townhomes, a clubhouse and a food truck court.

Eichler Construction is developing water and other infrastructure to serve a mixed-use development on an 8.5-acre site near Southridge High School.

Cordillera Southridge LLC, led by Greg Elmore, is developing the Southridge Apartments complex with 162 apartments, 20 “live/work” townhomes, a clubhouse and a food truck court.

A two-acre site near Country Mercantile in the Badger South neighborhood is being prepared for future construction of a two-story commercial building that will serve multiple tenants.

Design West Architects is the designer. Hummel Construction & Development LLC is the contractor.

Construction is valued at $1.54 million in a building permit issued in June.

The owner, Revive Land LLC, purchased the property in May 2023 for about $440,000. Revive is led by John David Black and Ameet Piryani.

Akjm LLC of Hermiston has broken ground on the future Tri-Cities home of N.W. Metal Fabricators.

The Oregon manufacturer purchased five acres near Polar Way and Logan Street in the Horn Rapids Industrial Park from the city of Richland for $340,000 in a deal that closed May 2, 2023.

The company, led by Aaron Karlson and James Yates, proposed building a 12,000-square-foot power manufacturing and power coating facility to support its growing business in the Mid-Columbia. A second phase is expected to add an additional 12,000-square-foot facility.

Baker Architecture is the designer. Hummel Construction & Development is the builder. Building permits issued in June valued the construction at $2.2 million.
