Belgrave Playground Committee to hold first major fundraiser

BELGRAVE – The Belgrave Playground Committee will hold its first major fundraiser on April 27 with a ‘fundraising kick-off roast beef dinner.’

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Belgrave Community Centre, located at 12 Queen St. in Belgrave, will be buzzing with activity. Dedicated volunteers will be serving a sit-down roast beef dinner,

Tickets are $25 and are on sale now for what organizers say will be one tasty night. The event will feature roast beef from Green’s Meat Market, produce from 100 Mile Produce, and decadent treats made by local bakers.

All proceeds go towards the playground.

North Huron Coun. Anita Van Hittersum (East Wawanosh) shared with Midwestern Newspapers the committee’s ambitious goal to raise $300,000 towards a new, accessible playground. This playground will provide a safe and inclusive space for all children and stand as a testament to the community’s unity and support.

Reeve Paul Heffer applauded the idea at the April 15 North Huron Council meeting, comparing it to the famous ‘Fowl Supper’ hosted annually at the Belgrave Community Centre.
