Bella Hadid Nods to Her Palestinian Roots in Red Keffiyeh Dress at Cannes Film Festival 2024
Bella Hadid stopped for sorbet on the Croisette during the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday.
The supermodel sported a red and white dress by Michael and Hushi, which was fashioned out of keffiyehs — a clear reference to her Palestinian heritage. Hadid added on an eyelet Sandy Liang flower-shaped scrunchie, Monica Vinader gold hoops and leather mules, completing her look with rectangular Y2K-inspired frames.

The Kin Euphorics founder styled her dark tresses in a sleek bun, while her makeup consisted of coral blush and a nude lip.
The keffiyeh is a scarf worn mainly in the Middle East, though it is frequently worn as a headdress. Since the 1930s, the keffiyeh has been a popular symbol among Palestinian activists. Her father is Mohamed Hadid, a Palestinian real estate developer, and her mother is Yolanda Hadid, a former Dutch model who starred on “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

On Tuesday, Hadid attended Chopard’s “Once Upon a Time” party in an archival look by Dsquared2. Her silver gown, from the label’s fall 2006 collection, featured a backless silhouette and bejeweled straps.
Stylist Molly Dickson, whose other A-list clients include Lana Del Rey and Sydney Sweeney, dressed Hadid for the occasion.
Earlier this month, Hadid launched her fragrance brand, ‘Ôrebella. The former Charlotte Tilbury ambassador also selected vintage looks while promoting her new business venture.
First, she donned a nude Dior design for her appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” which was dreamed up by the label’s former creative director, John Galliano, in 2004. At an ‘Ôrebella launch party, Hadid sported a corseted Roberto Cavalli dress emblazoned with a chinoiserie pattern.
Hadid’s ‘Ôrebella was originally announced in February. In May, the supermodel spoke with WWD about how she came up with her new product line.
“My way into fragrance was being on my farm with our lavender plants, and we have a cute health food store down the street from my house there,” she said. “They have the craziest variety of essential oils, and I’m obsessed with putting things together that you wouldn’t normally smell.”
