Bella Hadid is feeling good with where her life is at right now.

In a new interview published April 30, Hadid opened up to Allure about starting fresh in Texas with her "partner" Adan Banuelos, 35, and focusing on what brings her joy and leaving behind what doesn't.

And that includes taking a step back from modeling.

“After 10 years of modeling, I realized I was putting so much energy and love and effort into something that, in the long run, wasn't necessarily giving it back to me," she explained to the outlet.

Hadid went on to say that her life in Texas is different from how it was before. She's found a core group of friends that she hangs out with and she has the "best time," never feeling like she needs to do "too much" when it comes to getting herself ready for a night out with them.

"For the first time now, I'm not putting on a fake face. If I don't feel good, I won't go. If I don't feel good, I take time for myself," she said. "And I've never had the opportunity to do that or say that before. Now when anybody sees me in pictures and they say, I look happy, I genuinely am. I am feeling better; my bad days now were my old good days."

Hadid, 27, has modeled for top designers including Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and many more — the list goes on and on. She also famously modeled the Coperni dress at Paris Fashion Week in 2022 that was spray-painted onto her body live on the runway. It was the viral moment seen 'round the world.

But recently (and especially in the past year), Hadid has quietly been working on her mental and physical health. She candidly opened up about her struggle with Lyme disease on Instagram in August, writing that she is “finally healthy” after over a decade of intense health issues including “100+ days of Lyme, chronic disease, [co-infection] treatment [and] almost 15 years of invisible suffering.”

Since then, Hadid has moved to Texas, where she has started a new relationship with Banuelos, and is now launching her first fragrance collection, Orebella. Billed as the "skinification of fragrance," the three-scent collection, available starting May 2, is designed to be used directly on your skin and was born out of her love for mixing and matching essential oils.

She told Allure that she used to visit a health food store near her family's farm in Pennsylvania and mix essential oil scents with glycerin until she would find a combination that felt special. Hadid loved to feel like she had something that was her own.

“I was trying to make them as unique as possible so that when I put them on my body, it felt singular to me,” Hadid said. So she developed the scent profiles, pitched the brand to investors and created it from the ground up because it was something she felt strongly about.

“I didn’t want to just put something on the market that was another product or another perfume; it was something I was already extremely passionate about, and I didn’t want to keep it for myself anymore.”
