What are best new bites at The Taste NW this weekend? Vote, see what other readers said

We want to know which new vendors at The Taste Northwest this weekend have the best dishes.

Vote for your favorite and see the results so far. The poll closes at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The event runs 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Puyallup fairgrounds, 110 9th Ave. SW.

Visitors can get in at the Gold and Blue Gates.

Admission is free. Most vendors will have $5 samples. Visitors can buy food, beverage and activity packages.

“The Taste NW is more than just a celebration of food — it’s a melting pot of local and international cuisine, showcasing the best of what the South Sound has to offer,” the news release for the event said.

There will be live music, comedy, chef cook-offs, rides, beer gardens and other activities.

A full list of vendors and other information about the event can be found at thefair.com/the-taste-nw.

Asked what she thinks some of the top dishes will be, fair spokesperson Stacy Van Horne told The News Tribune via email Thursday: “I think Raclette Cheese House will be a big hit. They have the giant cheese wheel where it melts right off onto sandwiches. There are a lot more Asian food selections, that guests have asked for in the past. And I think in the vibe of summer, some of the new (and healthy) items like acai bowls and fresh juices will be popular as well.”

She said visitors can vote for their favorite bites at the event itself until 3 p.m. Sunday. The categories are “Best Eats” and “Best Sweets.”

“They simply scan the QR code at the booth they love the most and the winners will be crowned Sunday afternoon with the famous giant red fork and spoon,” Van Horne wrote. “Last year’s winners were Taste of Samoa for Best Eats and Wonky Wagon for Best Sweets.”
