Big Slick weekend has always come to Kansas City in June. Next time is different

The surprise celebrity guests are still a surprise.

So, too, are the ticket prices for the party and show. Last year:$75-$375.

What is sure is that the date for the 15th annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend fundraiser, which last year raised $3.5 million for Children’s Mercy Hospital, keeps sliding earlier in the calendar year.

Organizers announced Wednesday that next year’s event will be held on May 31 and June 1. (This year’s event was June 2-3, and the year before it was June 24-25).

Also certain is that it will be hosted by Kansas City’s pedigreed movie and television celebrities: founders Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd and Rob Riggle, plus Eric Stonestreet, David Koechner and Heidi Gardner. Gardner, of “Saturday Night Live” fame, last year became the event’s first female host.

As for celebrity guests, one can hope for Taylor Swift, as her new boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (and, oh, yeah, likely future Pro Football Hall of Fame candidate), was a guest last year, along with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
