Billie Lourd and Austen Rydell Share They 'Do a Lot of Cosleeping' at Home with Their 2 Kids: 'Whatever Works'

It's a slumber party every night in Billie Lourd and husband Austen Rydell's house.

On Wednesday, July 10, the couple, who share son Kingston, 3, and daughter Jackson Joanne, 17 months, caught up with PEOPLE at the premiere of the documentary Watershed in Los Angeles.

Asked if the parents of two have been sleeping more now that their kids are getting a little older, the Booksmart star, 31, candidly replies, "No. That’s not a thing. A little more, but they still wake up. It never ends."

"It’s like they've slept through the night five nights in a row and then that’s out the window," Rydell, 32, chimes in.

Lourd notes that their kids often climb into bed with them at night. "Yeah, we do a lot of cosleeping in our house," she shares.

"'Whatever works' is my motto," the actress adds.

When they're not sleeping, Rydell says their kids "love to watch movies" — especially ones that feature their family.

In March of this year, Lourd shared a post on her Instagram Story showing Kingston engrossed in the movie Singin’ in the Rain. This 1952 film starred Lourd's grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, who passed away from a stroke on December 28, 2016, at the age of 84.

The photo featured the back of Lourd's son's head as he sat in front of the television, watching his great-grandmother donned in a pink flapper girl costume, singing. Staying with the color scheme, Lourd captioned the photo with three pink hearts.

Reynolds' movie isn't the only family-filled film she hopes to introduce her son to.

Last year at Fisher's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Lourd shared more about showing her kids her late mother Carrie Fisher's body of work as she honored her mother at Fisher's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. "I can't wait to bring my kids here when they're old enough to understand how cool it is," she shared.

"I feel so lucky that even though they won't get to meet my mom, they will get to know a piece of her through Leia," she continued. "And I will get to tell them that the little lady in the TV is my Momby, their Grandmomby. Leia has become a family heirloom, and not just for my family."
