Blake Lively Says Being Called a Woman’s 'Crown Straightener' Is ‘Maybe the Best Compliment of My Life’

Lively shared an emotional message about the joys of "empowering female energy" on Wednesday, July 10

Blake Lively is happy to be a “crown straightener.”

On Wednesday, July 10, the actress, 36, shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes snaps of herself at the screening of her upcoming movie It Ends with Us, which is based on the 2016 book of the same name.

In the photos, Lively was seen pictured helping costar Isabela Ferrer with her outfit, as well as It Ends with Us book author Colleen Hoover — and she had some emotional words to say about how much it means to her to help other women.

“I got maybe the best compliment of my life after this weekend. Someone on social called me a ‘crown straightener,’ ” Lively’s caption read as she tied Hoover’s pink dress in a bathroom.

“ ‘A woman going around straightening all the women’s crowns around her.’ It meant so much to me because it’s those invisible things people see that make us all feel best," she added.

In the second photo, the Gossip Girl alum sat on the floor as she straightened out Ferrer’s jeans before fixing Hoover’s hair in the third and fourth slides.

Lively was then pictured having her makeup touched up, followed by a snap of her hugging husband Ryan Reynolds’ mother, Tammy Reynolds.

“I learned that we’re all sparkling leaders 👑, stronger together, from ALL the women in my life, blood and chosen,” the A Simple Favor star continued in her caption. “I am surrounded by crown straighteners. This weekend alone was packed with that empowering female energy.”

The post then featured a snap of Lively walking alongside staff at Sony Pictures, as well as a black and white photo of her sitting inside a theater.

“When I looked back at these pics, I saw it all in action,” she continued. “And it made me feel so lucky and loved. From @colleenhoover to her best friend, the powerhouse @tarrynfisher to my divine mother in law @tamtam1944 to the most loving and generous person to watch @itendswithusmovie movie next to @isabela.ferrer to the women who make me feel most beautiful inside and out @vivianbaker & @jennifer_yepez."

Lively then posed alongside Hoover, 44, and fellow author Tarryn Fisher before concluding the post with a snap of her, Ferrer and Hoover’s shoes.

“To the women at @sonypictures making such IMMENSE effort to bring joy look easy, especially Danni, Emily, Cori, Bridgette, Rose, Chrissy, Gloria, Stephanie, Ulga the women at @book.bonanza volunteering and also attending,” Lively added. “And the men who show up for us too. We love you.”

It Ends with Us follows Lively’s character Lily as she moves into a new city after her college graduation and falls in love with a man called Ryle. However, a twist occurs when her old high school flame comes back into her life.

The movie will be in theaters on August 9.
