Chris Brown to perform at Grammys on Sunday where Rihanna will also be singing with Coldplay

Chris Brown and the Grammy awards may be bad combination considering the singer was accused of assault on his ex Rihanna before the event in 2009, but that's not stopped him from making an appearance this year.

Just three years after Rihanna was left with visible injuries, Associated Press report her ex, Chris will take to the stage on Sunday's show.

Despite being nominated in the past, the 22-year -old has not appeared at the awards since the incident.

This year he's up for a trio of trophies, Best R&B Album for F.A.M.E, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for Look At Me Now.

Rihanna is also rumoured to feature on the bill, but she'll have to share the stage with Coldplay as it's thought a duet is planned .

The award nominations are all her own though as RiRi is up for Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album for Loud and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for What's My Name?

Since Rihanna and Chris Brown's split there's been reports that the two have secretly been seeing each other.

Last summer the Forever singer tweeted before quickly deleting '@Rihanna you got that pic i sent you?' which hardly quashed the reconciliation rumours.

And Sunday's show won't be the first reunion of 2012 for the pair, they were both at the same Super Bowl party in LA on Sunday.
