Rachel Bilson Welcomes Her Very Own Fairytale Princess

Rachel Bilson and her longtime boyfriend, Hayden Christensen, are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl named Briar Rose, The Insider With Yahoo confirms.

"Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson welcome their daughter Briar Rose Christensen born on October 29," a rep for the pair said in a statement. "Both mother and baby are healthy and doing well. They are asking for privacy and subscribe to the No Kids Policy."

This is the first child for the couple, who first started dating back in 2007. (Technically speaking, they did get engaged in 2008, but they never actually tied the knot.)

The name Briar Rose has an obvious origin story. It was the name of a folk tale originally written by the Grimm brothers that later inspired the story for Sleeping Beauty. In fact, in the 1959 Disney animated feature, it's the name the three fairies give to Princess Aurora to shield her from the evil Maleficent.

Bilson kept most of the details of her bundle of joy under wraps, but she did enjoy a babymoon in Barbados in June, as well as a star-studded baby shower at a private home in Los Angeles over Labor Day weekend. In addition to her high school girlfriends and close family members, Hollywood moms Natalie Portman (who appeared in Star Wars with Hayden) and Jaime King (who stars in Hart of Dixie with Rachel) were in attendance.

Reportedly, instead of traditional shower gifts, guests gave Bilson inspirational "birth beads," which were to be strung onto a necklace to give Rachel "strength during labor."

There's no word yet on whether the beads worked, but it seems that (with or without them), the new mom and baby are doing just fine.
