Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar Settle Old Score Over Ex-Boyfriend on the 'Dancing With the Stars' Premiere [Recap]

The 18th season of "Dancing With the Stars" kicked off on Monday night with a star-studded cast that doubled as the most awesome pop-culture convention ever. A "Star Wars" legend, a swimming superstar, and a pair of '90s TV sweethearts were just a few of the famous faces to make their debut on the latest edition of the celebrity ballroom competition.

In addition to the obligatory sequins and spray tans, the season premiere featured a new band, a new set, a new co-host, and a newfangled version of the Skybox. But an old rivalry came in to play for Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar.

The former sitcom stars had a score to settle after Cameron Bure dished that back in the day her old boyfriend, "Growing Pains" star Jeremy Miller, broke up with her so he could date another girl: "I got dumped because he wanted to go out with Danica," the "Full House" star revealed on the "DWTS" premiere.

Neither girl ended up with Miller — Cameron Bure has been married to Russian hockey pro Valeri Bure since 1996, while McKellar split from husband Mike Verta last year — but 25 years later, McKellar still knows how to put on the charm.

When it came time for her dance with pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy, the actress really kissed up to the judges. (Well, to judge Bruno Tonioli at least!) The "Wonder Years" star capped off her elegant Foxtrot by planting a smackeroo on the Italian spitfire, and he reciprocated by commending her kissing — and acting — skills. But what about her dancing ability? McKellar scored a round of eights for her polished moves.

In the other corner, Cameron Bure seemingly shocked the judges with her contemporary dance with Mark Ballas. "You are such an incredible dancer!" Carrie Ann Inaba gushed of the lift-heavy routine. "I want to work with you! I want to see it again!" The "Make It or Break It" star beat out her teen rival by one point, with a score of 25. She also joked that if Miller was smart he'd vote for both of his former girlfriends this week.

Speaking of love connections, James Maslow has some history with his partner Peta Murgatroyd. Before they were ever paired up for "Dancing With the Stars," the duo went on a date once. After the couple's Foxtrot, Inaba dished that she had a "big time crush" on the musical hunk. Maslow downplayed romance rumors, though. When newly crowned co-host Erin Andrews asked him what's going on between him and his pro partner, the "Big Time Rush" star shut her down: "She's trying to teach me to dance, that's what's going on," he said.

Other highlights of the premiere included Olympic champs Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who are competing against each other for the first time in 17 years.

Davis put on quite a show with returning pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy. After the couple's Cha Cha, Len Goodman told the gold medalist, "You're nice on ice, you're good on wood!" Tonioli dubbed the athlete "The Queen of Spins," and told her, "You were going so fast I thought you were fracking for gas!"

But it was Davis's ice dancing mate who paid her the biggest compliment. "It was awesome," White said of his longtime partner's performance. "I wouldn't expect anything less. I know what a hard worker she is. I know what a great partner she is."

White and his partner Sharna Burgess also proved that ice is overrated. Their contemporary routine nabbed the highest score of the night — a whopping 27 points — with Inaba calling it "poetry in motion."

Paralympian Amy Purdy, who was paired with five-time mirrorball champ Derek Hough, proved that she has what it takes to go from bronze in Sochi to a mirrorball trophy. Tonioli quickly nicknamed the 34-year-old athlete "Wonder Woman," while Inaba was stunned. "I have never seen anything like that," she said after Purdy's Cha Cha with Hough. "You are like a beacon of light in this room."

Watch Purdy's performance:

On the other end of the leaderboard, "Star Wars" icon Billy Dee Williams did his best Wookiee impression before his Cha Cha with Emma Slater, and R2-D2 even made a cameo for the movie-themed dance. But the force wasn't exactly with the 77-year-old movie legend. Tonioli told Williams, "You played it very C-3PO. I want Darth Vader!" Inaba called the slow moving star "the most relaxed dancer I've ever seen." Cue up the boos from the Ewoks in the audience!
