A Korean fan has revealed they couldn’t help falling in love with Ed Sheeran despite his appearance. The 24-year-old “I’m a Mess” singer posted a photo yesterday of a fan letter he recently received which read, “You are little ugly but I love you!” which Sheeran captioned “God bless Korea.”

Though the British singer-songwriter appeared in People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue in 2013, he took it with a grain of salt. “I guess Austin Powers was considered a sex symbol, and we share similar physical-appearance qualities,” Sheeran said at the time “I brush my teeth though. “

But he’s not the only celebrity who doesn’t think he’s conventionally attractive. Here are five more:

Benedict Cumberbatch

In a 2012 interview with The Guardian, Benedict Cumberbatch admitted he's not among the legions who considers himself sexy. “I look in a mirror and I see all the faults I’ve lived with for 35 years,” he said. “I dislike the size and shape of my head. I’ve been likened to Sid the sloth from 'Ice Age'… I have a long face, retroussé nose and have been known to be quite camp… I know I don’t fit into some archetype. I’m comfortable with it.”

It doesn’t matter that pretty much everyone on earth is in love with him, Ryan Gosling does not consider himself particularly hot. “I’m not that good looking. I think I’m a pretty weird-looking guy,” he told The Chicago Sun-Times in 2011. “Every role I got up until ‘The Notebook’ was the weirdo, freak, psychopath, nerd, outsider character guy.”

He’s considered one of the most beautiful men on the planet but Johnny Depp just doesn’t see it. “I wake up and I have to look at that head when I brush my teeth every morning and it’s weird, and it’s unpleasant at times, so I don’t know about the attention,” he said in 2011 during a "Rango" press conference.

Don Draper may be dapper but the actor who plays him thinks Brad Pitt has him beat. “I don’t necessarily think of myself like the handsome guy. That’s reserved for Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds and those guys,” he told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 2012. “But it’s certainly nice when people say nice things about you, don’t get me wrong. I guess I never really thought of myself that way.”

Just last month, Jennifer Lopez’s ex admitted that his father broke the news to him about his looks. “My dad told me early on, he said, ‘Son, we’re both ugly,’ “Marc Anthony said on “The Meredith Veira Show,” adding, “I was born looking at his face – and he was right.”
