Had a rough week? Buck understands.

The 8-week-old pup experienced his first bout of the hiccups this week — and wasn’t quite sure what to make of them.

According to a translation by his owner, Matthew Kennedy (who evidently speaks puppy), Buck was determined to use the classic startle method to rid himself of the strange sensations:

“What are these things inside me!? I will scare them away!”

(Unfortunately, growling and barking at them doesn’t make them go away, Buck. If it did, there would be a lot or people barking on the way home from the bar.)

In the end, the cute pup just groans in defeat.

The video of the young Heeler trying to scare away his own hiccups is now going viral.

Dogs: they’re just like us.
