Employee dressed as zebra goes on rampage for emergency drill at Tokyo zoo

It’s always good to keep any drill situation as close to a real emergency as possible. That must be why a zookeeper in Japan donned a zebra costume for a simulation of an animal escape and recapture this week a Toky zoo.

The wild ‘animal’ rampaged around the zoo, albeit on two feet, tearing down nets and even knocking over another zookeeper before being surrounded by staff carrying nets and sticks to bang on the ground, according to Global News.

The black-and-white creature was then ‘sedated’ by a zoo employee firing a fake tranquilizer and net-carrying staff moved in.

The drill was meant to simulate an animal escape in the aftermath of an earthquake.

“Zebras are animals that panic easily, so when humans actually came close, I felt myself almost panicking as well,” said the woman in the striped and furry suit. “So next time, when I am on the catcher’s side, I’d like to keep that feeling in mind when dealing with animals.”
